About Us

My photo
We don't really know how to do a blog so be patient with us as we explore this and in time hopefully you will enjoy reading it. As we are retired now & have sold our house we live in a campground for the summer and now we are going to travel to find a place to call home for the winter months. This blog is about our travels in our quest to find that place we can call home for the winter. We will enjoy having you along with us on our travels.

Some of the shooting gallery inside near the bar.

If you can eat all of this meal in an hour, you get it for free.
The current champ ate this in 8 minutes and 52 seconds.
A 63 year old grandmother ate it in 1977.
A professional wrestler ate 2 whole meals in 1965.

At our table in the balcony looking down into the restaurant.
The table on the stage is for people who attempt the 72oz meal.

We had a couple of drinks and the Big Texan Buffalo Quesadilla.

Bonnie liked looking at the bears coming out of the walls.

The sidewalk outside the Big Texan with all the brands in the concrete.

2010-10-25 On the Way to Oasis Campground in Amarillo, TX

Scenery on the way to Walmart in Tulsa, OK.
Walmart in Tulsa, OK. It was very windy so we parked next to this hill to help block the wind.
Sat in lawn chairs and had a couple of drinks, while we watched the planes fly right overhead.
Scenery after we left Walmart in Tulsa, OK and headed for Amarillo, TX.
 Lots of windmills.
 Entering Texas.
Long stretch of road with not much scenery.
Cotton fields with HUGE bales of cotton.
 Cool looking painted shed.
 Nothingness.
 What can we say??
Can you tell we're in the Bible Belt?
 Day and night speed limits.
 Beautiful cotton fields.
Can you see the houses on the horizon?
Lots of these signs along the way advertising a FREE 72oz steak.
