My photo
We don't really know how to do a blog so be patient with us as we explore this and in time hopefully you will enjoy reading it. As we are retired now & have sold our house we live in a campground for the summer and now we are going to travel to find a place to call home for the winter months. This blog is about our travels in our quest to find that place we can call home for the winter. We will enjoy having you along with us on our travels.

2010-11-24 Looking for Sue's house & dinner at Chili's

This was our first full day at Leaf Verde RV, Buckeye, AZ.

Leaf Verde RV as were going out for a ride
to locate Nick & Sue's house.

This is the view across the road from Leaf Verde entrance.

Going down the road that the campground is on,
looking toward Nick & Sue's.

 Roadside vendor.

View of the mountains near Nick & Sue's.

The first Dirt Devil we ever saw, luckily we got a picture of it.

Cowboys we saw on our ride, down the road from Nick & Sue's.

We found Nick & Sue's beautiful house, but they weren't home.

 Nick & Sue's neighborhood.

Fighter jet from Luke Air Force Base, where they do a lot of training. It was like seeing an air show everyday.

 Nick & Sue's house.

Another neighborhood down the road further.

A view as we're taking a ride to check out the area.

 Another view of the area.

Huge baby in the field. Bigger than the tractor.

 More scenery.

Went back and got the truck to go get something to eat.
Heading toward Phoenix.

 Found Chili's.

 Southwestern Jalapeno burgers. Delicious.
Bonnie says "I wonder why I can't loose weight"? LOL.

 YUM!!!!

Bill had regular Margaritas and Bonnie had Black-Berry Margaritas.
They sneak-up on you.

The traffic was bad on the way back to Leaf Verde RV.
People where traveling for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
We saw a lot of dune buggies and ATVs heading out toward the desert. Traffic was backed up for miles. The next day we heard someone died in an accident not far from our exit.

2010-11-23 Drive to Phoenix, AZ to Visit Nick & Sue

Scenery from Kingman, AZ on the way to Phoenix, AZ.

This was one of the housing tracts that was
abandoned when the economy went bad.
Beautiful homes going to waste.

 Some of the scenery.

Joshua trees in Joshua Forest.

One of the few side roads.

There were two trucks with trailers in front of us.
We almost got in an accident with this guy when the
one in front of him slammed on his brakes to turn.

Stopped at this rest area for a lunch break.
These are some of the signs there.
It was a very nice rest area.

 Lunch break is over.
Time to get back on the road.

A lot of these in the Phoenix area.

 Nice sculpture of horses.

 Nice artistic wall.

One of the watered fields in Phoenix.

The next field over that wasn't watered.

Didn't realize when we took this picture,
but Nick & Sue live over that way toward the mountains.

Arriving at Leaf Verde RV Resort in Buckeye, AZ.
This is the office and store.

Looking across the road out the campground driveway.

On site hair salon as you enter the campground.

Taking a break at our site after the drive from Kingman, AZ.

Picnic area at Leaf Verde RV Resort.

 Shuffle board.

 Heated pool and patio.

Looking down one of roads in the campground
with the mountains in the background.

Our first night at the campground, we had a beautiful sunset.
