About Us

My photo
We don't really know how to do a blog so be patient with us as we explore this and in time hopefully you will enjoy reading it. As we are retired now & have sold our house we live in a campground for the summer and now we are going to travel to find a place to call home for the winter months. This blog is about our travels in our quest to find that place we can call home for the winter. We will enjoy having you along with us on our travels.

2010-11-23 Drive to Phoenix, AZ to Visit Nick & Sue

Scenery from Kingman, AZ on the way to Phoenix, AZ.

This was one of the housing tracts that was
abandoned when the economy went bad.
Beautiful homes going to waste.

 Some of the scenery.

Joshua trees in Joshua Forest.

One of the few side roads.

There were two trucks with trailers in front of us.
We almost got in an accident with this guy when the
one in front of him slammed on his brakes to turn.

Stopped at this rest area for a lunch break.
These are some of the signs there.
It was a very nice rest area.

 Lunch break is over.
Time to get back on the road.

A lot of these in the Phoenix area.

 Nice sculpture of horses.

 Nice artistic wall.

One of the watered fields in Phoenix.

The next field over that wasn't watered.

Didn't realize when we took this picture,
but Nick & Sue live over that way toward the mountains.

Arriving at Leaf Verde RV Resort in Buckeye, AZ.
This is the office and store.

Looking across the road out the campground driveway.

On site hair salon as you enter the campground.

Taking a break at our site after the drive from Kingman, AZ.

Picnic area at Leaf Verde RV Resort.

 Shuffle board.

 Heated pool and patio.

Looking down one of roads in the campground
with the mountains in the background.

Our first night at the campground, we had a beautiful sunset.

  1. We enjoyed your blog and photos of Leaf Verde and surrounding area. We are taking off in Nov. 2011 for our first visit to this area in a travel trailer and plan on staying at this site so it is very interesting to see your photos.
