About Us

My photo
We don't really know how to do a blog so be patient with us as we explore this and in time hopefully you will enjoy reading it. As we are retired now & have sold our house we live in a campground for the summer and now we are going to travel to find a place to call home for the winter months. This blog is about our travels in our quest to find that place we can call home for the winter. We will enjoy having you along with us on our travels.

2010-11-13 Trip to Oatman, AZ with Wayne & Donna

Wayne & Donna hadn't been to Oatman in awhile, and we liked it so much, we decided to all go for the day.

Scenery on the way to Oatman, AZ.

Notice the curves in the road.

 Notice the wrecked car.

 In a shop in Oatman.

Donna, Wayne and Bill on the street in Oatman.

Cactus in one of the shops growing through the roof.
You can also pan for gold here.

Hard to tell, but you can see the cactus coming out of the roof.

Interesting resident of Oatman who is
his own one man band Part1.

Interesting resident of Oatman who is
his own one man band Part2.

Interesting resident of Oatman who is
his own one man band Part3.

 Lunch at the Oatman Hotel.

Notice the dollar bills people write on and
attach to the walls and ceiling.

Wayne & Donna waiting for the grub.

 Wayne's buffalo burger was delicious.

 Yummy food.

We put our dollar bill up and Wayne & Donna put one under it.

 Some Oatman history.

 Gable & Lombard marriage licence.

 Wayne & Donna.

 Bill & Bonnie.

One of the old mines along Rt66.

You can go down either way.

 More scenery.

Noticed a cross on the mountain, so we went to investigate.

We found a bunch of memorials.

Wayne parked where the only burro crap
was right outside Bonnie's door.

 Can you see the cave?

Stopped at this gift shop/museum on Rt66.

We were told that the white spot
in the center of the picture is a prison.
